| Spine sections are named simply because of the central spine on the ramp. Although generally used by a more experienced rider, other designs (volcanoes and camels humps) can be incorporated to allow use by less experienced riders as well.
Spines can also be incorporated into a half pipe to create a mini spine section, which proves very popular within the modern extreme sports industry.
